2011 WSEX Warning: High Risk Bonus Email (Avoid!)

Posted by James on 27 July 2011 in Betting Sites News

World Sports Exchange sent out an email this evening offering their former clients a reload bonus for the 2011 NFL Season. Sports Betting Sites is advising all punters to proceed with great caution when dealing with WSEX, which is a sportsbook included on most every watchdog’s blacklist. To give the quick rundown, WSEX has been in slow pay mode for a couple years now, and many sports bettors who requested withdrawal nearly two years ago have not been paid. It was recent reported “In total, wsex players have reported being slow-paid a total of $460,462. The most delinquent payment request is from October of 2009.”

There’s a little more to this story, but first here’s a copy of the promotional email they sent this evening:

WSEX.com

WSEX is NOT Antigua Licensed

The interesting part of this story is not that WSEX has a payment specialist; which obviously if they do, he has a TON of work to do in getting the half a million dollar they’re holding hostage returned. Of course, chances are this specialist only works in deposits. Anyways… what we found mildly intriguing was the credits to the email message which read:

This email was sent by: World Sports Exchange, Ltd.
Suite 1 Woods Center, St. John’s, Antigua, West Indies

WSEX.com is not licensed to operate from Antigua. This was made very clear in a December 16, 2010 notice by the Antigua Financial Services Regulator Commission. The relevant section of that notice reads:

World Sports Exchange Limited and World Sports Exchange Casino Ltd. trading as www.wsex.com no longer have licenses to conduct interactive gaming and interactive wagering from or within the jurisdiction of Antigua and Barbuda. Any statements or inferences to the contrary are false. The Antigua and Barbuda Financial Services Regulatory Services Commission will not be liable for or respond to any claims, demands, actions or resulting damages incurred as a result of gaming activities with this site or any other sites associated with World Sports Exchange Limited and World Sports Exchange Casino Ltd. trading as www.wsex.com.

At this point players are advised to proceed with extreme caution when dealing with WSEX. Once one of the most respected brands in the business, and Jay Cohen once idolized by his peers, the brand has gone sour and Mr. Cohen hasn’t been heard from in over a year. At this point we have to consider World Sports Exchange very close to a scam site. We’re writing this post in hopes it will steer sports bettors clear of their latest bonus offer, thus saving them from potential stress and financial loss.

Where to Bet Online

Please consider playing only at reputable gambling sites such as BetCRIS brands. In the US punters can access BetCRIS, via www.bookmaker.eu. BetCRIS founded the offshore gambling industry in 1985, and has proven to be a leader heads and tails above the rest of the field. They are rated A+ at SBS and have high to top ratings at all of our legit watchdog competitors. If you live outside the US there are many additional excellent choices such as Bet365, Ladbrokes and Pinnacle Sports. As a reminder be cautious this football season; with a lot of sites out of the market now, there will no doubt be a fair number of scams. Stay tuned to SBS for the latest warnings.
